Polish Galaxy Zoo launches
Following the official inauguration in Poland in September 2007, the international scientific educational project known as Galaxy Zoo has announced that the Polish version of the project's Web Site is now fully functional.

Torun radiotelescope communicating at gigabit transfer speeds
Tuesday, 11th December 2007, saw another test of the e-VLBI network. Five radiotelescopes, the Polish one in Torun being one of them, transmitted data via pre-established network links to the central computer at a speed of 1 gigabit per second (1Gbps).

A new Polish comet
Michal Kusiak, a student of astronomy at Jagiellonian University in Krakow and an editor of Astronomia.pl has discovered a new comet. This young astronomy enthusiast found the object in images sent back to Earth by the SOHO Solar Observatory.

Evolution of Comet 17P/Holmes
Comet 17P/Holmes has been intriguing astronomers since the end of October, when its sudden outburst in brightness, the biggest in the history of comet research, was observed. Scientists from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun in Poland have published a series of images illustrating the evolution of the comet.
